Imagine this. It’s pitch-black outside, and you’re given barely an hour to plot a route on public roads; rallying all night through places like Otley and the Yorkshire Dales, stopping only for petrol. Being cheered on by huge groups of fans waiting for a glimpse of the action as you zoom past. Nowadays, this feels almost like folklore. That blood-rushing experience lives on only in the hearts and memories of those who were there to experience it.

The Motorist is hosting a FREE rally-themed day on Saturday 12th of October where you’ll be able to see rare cars and share your enthusiasm for the art of rallying. And in the evening, we are bringing together a line-up of rally legends to share their intimate stories about that era; keen to reminisce with those of you lucky enough to witness that era for yourselves, and to pass on the tremendous heritage of that period to the new generation of rally fans.

What to expect on the day:

During the day, The Motorist will host it’s usual free Saturday Social between 09:00 - 16:00, and the theme will be “rally”. Thorough out the day, Paul Woodford will host surprise interviews with well-known personalities from the road rallying world. Plus, there will be an unveiling of a special car at 15:00. This portion of the day will be FREE for all to attend!

In the evening, there will be a drinks reception starting at 18:00 in Club Le Mans followed by a panel talk at 19:00 featuring special guests such as Tony Saddington, Pete Smith, Jeremy Mathew and Alan Hill and hosted by Paul Woodford and Jonathan Pulleyn. Please note, the drinks reception and panel event are ticketed.
